“Unafraid”- Behind the Song

Hi everyone! 🙂

This song was created out of the desire to have a track on the EP that was encouraging to those walking through deep valley seasons of life. Here are a few of my thoughts on the song!

First of all, let me start out by saying that if you are currently in a season of deep hurt or confusion, you’re not alone and you are loved! Loved by a Savior who took your place on the cross and pours out His forgiveness and grace FOR YOU.

Through even the darkest of valleys, you are HELD by a risen Savior who is alive and with you.

How comforting is that? There is a reality that we were never promised a perfect life. In fact, we were promised the exact opposite. But here’s another promise: God will never leave us nor forsake us.

The Lord has made a way for us to be ABLE to live unafraid… No fear in life, no fear in death as a result of the CROSS. Because of what was done on our behalf,

There is no need to fear other’s opinions of us or chase their love — there is a love for us that is unshakable.

No need to chase titles — we are declared blameless children of God because he took all the blame.

No need to fear failure or not being accepted — we are more accepted than we could ever hope because of the perfect Son of God.

The love of God and our salvation are not contingent upon what we do; it’s not pass or fail. It’s grace and mercy and it’s perfect love that is able to drive out fear! (1 John 4:18)

Lastly, let’s remember that our steady hope lies in the gospel. Life can get pretty sucky, let’s be real. We are sinful beings and with that comes a lot of pain and suffering and confusion and not-so-perfect stuff. At the end of the day, I can’t tell you this difficult season of your life is going to end tomorrow or in a year or even 10 years; only He knows! But here is what I do know. He has made a way for life after death and for us to be able to live without fear of what the wages of sin ACTUALLY are, which is our own death (Romans 6:23).

What a blessing that is, that the truth of our secure eternity overflows into our lives on earth and in turn, we can have peace and we can live unafraid.

No matter what season you are in, if you have put one foot in front of the other today, thank God for that. The strength to do that was a gift straight from His hands. He is holding you and will give you strength to make it through, not because we are worthy, but because He is a kind, merciful Father.

Thanks for reading!
